The Southerner

Dreaming of their first website, The Southerner called on Northbound to capture their genuine Southern hospitality. The Southerner is a mix of farmhouse and deli. A unique mix that offers that traditional Southern hospitality, a drink list that will keep you out all night, and a spot on the water perfect for brunch with the family.

Authentic Roadside Eats

There is a certain design aesthetic connected the diners of yesteryear, and The Southerner wanted to stay true to that aesthetic. We did not redesign their current menu, rather cleaned it up and added a drink menu to boot.

Previously their food menu did not match their drink menu so we used the same fonts, colors, and layout on both, plus added business cards to their game. A smooth transition from their restaurant to their website was our end game, so we kept the website simple, just like their menus.

While on a drive down south with the family, owner Katie Fris used her phone to choose hotels and restaurants. If her options did not have a quality website she passed them by without question. The day she returned to Saugatuck Katie called us for design work.
